We are excited to host this dreamy class: how to paint with colored clay!
About this class:
Colored clay is so fun and can be used in different ways. We are going to learn the inlay technique, where we work on a white clay slab and create our design by adding colored elements and rolling them in. From dots and lines to flowers and gardens, maybe a self portrait or your dog's face - anything is possible!
We will be using ceramic stains: four colors that are mixed into clay. We will do all the preparations so you can get started with your plate or tray.
In this class you will learn:
- about clay, the process, and firing
- about the stains in our four colored clays
- how to roll out a slab, our canvas
- prepare designs and add them to our slab
- turn the slab into a plate or tray by lifting the rims
After the class we, will dry your pieces, bisque fire them, glaze them transparent for a shiny and food safe surface, then fire again until our masterpieces become functional ceramics - all one of a kind!
Because this class requires a lot of space for rolling out the slabs, we will be limiting the participants to four. This will be a small group and a one-off class.
This is a beginner-friendly class, no prior experience is required.
Fees:
The class fee covers all necessary materials and firings for up to three pieces. Should you wish to create additional pieces, they can be fired and glazed for an additonal fee of 15€ per piece.
Pick up:
Your pieces will be ready in about 5-7 weeks. Once they are ready for pick up, we will notify you via email, and you can come by during opening hours. We kindly request that you collect your pieces within two months. If you are unable to do so, feel free to send a friend on your behalf.

The minimum class size is 2 students, the maximum is 4. If a class has less than 2 students, we will contact you to reschedule. Participants must be at least 16 years old.
